Dev log Week 10: Is this the end?
Introduction
It's the second and last week of polish work. Focus for the week was to add little details to the scene and gameplay and get everything that is in the game working the way that we wanted it.
Art
From the art side we added more decorative assets to the scene to make it even prettier and more alive.
Eg.: more variations in the trees and bushes, flowers on the fields.
And a forbidden love between a cat and a pigeon
Programming
We did a lot of bug fixes and just general small improvement to make the game better. The car movement feels a lot of better and we patched the spots where the player could get stuck. We also optimized the scripts a lot to remove unnecessary new calls to improve performance.
The different players get now their own color to distinguish them better (scooter, shirt and beam).
As you can see, we also added a second timer. The first timer indicates when the bombs will explode and the second timer indicates when the game will end.
When players start leaving the game and there is only 1 player left, this player will get kicked to the main menu so all the players can join again and so they can start a new game.
Controllers will now vibrate when 1 bomb holder and 1 non-bomb holder will collide with each other. The controllers will also vibrate when their bomb explodes.
We also updated the points system, now players can gain an extra point when they never touched the bomb in the round.
